About 10th and Broadway

One of the most original homes in Salt Lake City

sits on the corner of 10th and Broadway. It boasts a prominent landscape and fascia that boldly enhances the beauty of the neighborhood, and has inspired bohemian artistry and gardening since its inception in 1871.

Known lovingly throughout the community as “The White House”, the property was settled by pioneer potter and distiller George Baddley and originally spanned 10 acres (imagine the greatness!) as an agricultural hub for the East Central district.

When the house was inherited by David Idan Schutt in 2009, the property underwent 7 years of intensive restoration and improvements which have revitalized the house as well as the neighborhood. Even tourists stop by from word of mouth to see the pristine and historically accurate face of the house as well as the elaborate garden.
